In this article we shall learn How to Remove the Car Radio in a Bora. Though this car is not very popular in Asian countries like India and China this Bora is very popular in Europe. Automobile king Volkwagen introduced this car to the European market. Golf and Jetta are nothing but other names of Bora. There exists lot of similarities between these cars. They come with powerful audio system too. However for those wanting to replaced factory installed one with a new radio we should first learn how to remove the car radio in a Bora.

This article we have also outlined some useful tips and suggestions for doing this job better. This removal of radio can be done in three simple steps. However there are some specific tools which have to be used for this purpose. We mainly require removal tools of radio especially for double din type.

These tools cannot be fabricated easily in house. So we need to purchase and keep them ready. This procedure mentioned below is common for all Bora cars. They share few common features like that of Double din which enables installation of large stereos. That is why we employ special tools for doing this radio system removal job.

The first step involves opening the car door. Carefully observe the stereo. We will be able to see provisions where we can insert and fix keys. These provisions are just small slots that are usually flat. The removal keys have notches. The keys have to be slided such that these notches exactly fit into the slots on the stereo. There will be totally four such slots with two on either side. So two keys should be fitted in left and other two in right hand slide. Accordingly these notches will be pointing in the opposite direction.

When a click sound is heard as we insert the keys into the provisions and slots in stereo it means the removal keys have fitted perfectly or else keep trying till the click sound is heard. In the next step we should use both our hands to pull back the keys or tools. As we do this we will see that the stereo becomes detached from the dash board and is slided out along with the keys.

The last and third step is very important. As we take out the stereo with one hand with the other hand plugging connection of antenna lead is disconnected. We also unplug the compact disc changer. We should also remove the connection of GPS leads. Finally the harness for wiring is disconnected after which the clips get released.

Here are few useful tips. We should always ensure that we buy the correct tools for removal . Tools that are available in stereo shops nearby may not be genuine. So we need to purchase from a Volkwagen retail shop. The simplest thing would be to buy the removal tools on line. The next useful suggestion would be when we take out the harness for wiring be sure not to switch on the key for ignition of engine.

Thus we have learnt How to Remove the Car Radio in a Bora.
