Moccasin shoes are made from soft leather (often using deer hide) and they were what the Native Americans tribes wore about 400 years ago. As deerskins are easily acquired back then, moccasins became quite popular among the tribes. This could also be attributed to the fact that they are well padded for the rough landscape and soft enough to keep them warm. They are a lot quieter than most shoes sold these days and provide good grip to prevent one from slipping. Unlike many other shoes, moccasins did not die out in time, but still remain as popular today even though the designs have somewhat evolved (but did not deviate much from the original).
The most traditional and typical kind is the slip-ons, also sometimes called loafers. They've come a long way since they were first introduced back in the 1930s. Back then, people used to wear them on lazy, casual days but now the designs has gotten so much better and versatile that you can simply wear them out anywhere, even to work! For example, this suede penny loafer is simplistic in design without any busy pattern on it. These penny loafers can come in flats and heels for those who want to add a bit height to their stature.

There are also driving shoes for people who often drive out for long trips. You'd think that any shoes can be used to drive but you'd be only partially correct. It is easy to find shoes you can use for driving, but it isn't so easy to find one that can last year after year and still give you that comfy fit. Anne Klein's Driving Moc is such a pair of driving shoes. While the outer design is modern with shiny hardware detailing, it as extra durable heel bumper to protect against wear and the insoles are specifically made to provide extra comfort to your feet. But these shoes are more than just driving shoes; you can wear them for casual walking just as well.
But if you are simply looking for something that aren't to dressy or elegant and just merely sandals to wear when you go out to the grocery shop, then look no further than Minnetonka's Vail Thong Sandals. This one has a Western feel to its design with casual thong wedge sandal style. It's simple enough that you can wear it out like any other typical sandals, but it also has a 2-inch wedge to give it an extra oomph, making it trendy enough to go out on a casual outing. Like any other moccasins, it has good insole cushioning and traction patterned outsole to give a good grip.
Otherwise, take a gander at yet another of Minnetonka's brainchild ' the Woodstock Boots. These Native American looking boots has the word bohemian written all over it. Explore nature's wilderness in it and you might just get a feel of the native's life back then. These boots have fringe trim at the ankle and calf along with casual leather lace-up. It comes in four suede colors ' black, brown, dusty brown and tan. Wear it with knee level skirts or dresses to complement them!
These shoes are not likely to go out of style anytime soon, seeing that they lasted for a few centuries already. Getting a few pairs of them would be a good investment as any other, don't you agree?
