Prefabricated buildings and mono -blocks

The mono-blocks are temporary structures in use, in most cases, in construction sites. Often these structures are realized as actual houses put onto the land.
Lately, many companies also produce mono-blocks already with the structure of real shops, bars, kiosks, newsagents, sports facilities, schools, and so on.
The mono-blocks are also produced as canteens, toilets, changing rooms, chemical toilets; they may also be stackable and combinable. Their versatility has contributed decisively to their rapid development and perfection of structure and technical characteristics. The mono-block is always transported in a truck or a trailer and as they have no links with the land they are seen as moveable and not fixed structures. They are often used on non-development land in order to avoid administrative penalties for unauthorized construction.

Any company that manufactures the mono-blocks has its standard measures for both the length and the width of the structures. The width cannot exceed that of the floor of a truck and so 248 cm for the exterior. Lengths are the most varied and may exceed the 12.00 Mt. The heights of the mono-blocks can also vary according to the way you use the facility. The standard height of a mono-block is of cm. 245 outside but you can also reach cm. 304 outside.
The difference between the external and internal measures is of about cm. 36 less than the outside, but this varies depending on the factory that produces the mono-block.

The term "prefab" means instead a building component made individually and then assembled with other elements. Prefabrication can be done in precast factory, here the structural element is produced, stored in a warehouse, transported on site, assembled.
Or it can be prefabricated on site, it is then built somewhere around the work and deposited in the vicinity, until the time of installation, then correctly positioned and assembled.
Today, the prefabrication is growing exponentially. There are three main reasons for this unexpected success: very attractive implementation costs, quality of construction and environmental respect.

Increasingly attentive to the theme of eco-sustainability, many manufacturers have chosen the path of prefabricated to facilitate the so-called "green architecture". We talk about green architecture because many prefabricated, in line with current legislation, offer, with the installation of photovoltaic solar panels and use of raw materials, a large cost savings, together with low CO2 emissions.
