Technology has made things simple and easy. The sound system which plays our favorite tracks is one of the greatest inventions. The clarity of these sound systems has been increased to great levels because of the recent improvements and inventions. Subwoofer is such a device which is used to increase the clarity and effect of the music. It is a loudspeaker which is used to reproduce the low pitch notes. These subwoofers are produced by many companies, out of which kicker is a well known and renowned manufacturer. This article will discuss on how to make a kicker subwoofer box.

The things required to proceed with this process are a fiberboard which is of medium density, generally termed as MDF, screws, glue, subwoofer, terminal cup, wires, circular and jig saw and a drill. The process will require the use of a three fourth inch of the fiberboard and twelve inch of the subwoofer. The following paragraphs will discuss on the steps to be followed.

The first step is to get ready with the box’s front, back and side panels. The front panel will have a dimension of 14*14 in inches. The dimension of the back panel is also the same. Whereas the dimension of the side panel is 14*12 in inches. The fiberboard is cut in these measurements and kept ready.

Next we move on to the box’s top panel and bottom panel. These will have the dimension 12 1/2 *12 in inches. The fiberboard is cut in that measurement and kept ready.

Then the top panel, bottom panel and side ones are arranged together in such a way to form a rectangle. The panels are made to bind with each other with the help of screws and glue. The panels are placed in such a way that the dimension measured is 14*14 in inches.

An opening is cut by using the subwoofer template. This opening is done in the centre of front panel. This opening is used as a provision to place the subwoofer. Similarly an opening is made by using the cup template. This opening is done in the centre of back panel. This opening is used as a provision to place the cup.

Now these panels are attached with the rectangle previously made, with the help of screws and glue. A wire of length 14 inch is attached to the back of the cup. The wire is inserted into the provision made for the cup. The cup is then held in position with the help of screws. The wire’s other end is fixed to the subwoofer through a terminal. Then the subwoofer is placed in its provision and held in position with the help of the screws.

Thus the article would have given you an idea of how to make a kicker subwoofer box. The subwoofers do play an important role in increasing the effect of the system as a whole. The devices need to be kept clean and properly maintained so that the system lasts long and gives the effect we require.
