This place is an archipelago in the central Mediterranean Sea south of Sicily across the Malta Channel. Some of the patron saints of Malta are Saint George, Saint Paul, and Saint Agata.
Malta is a land of many cultural practices. Its culture is a reflection of various Mediterranean cultures over the centuries, which came into contact with the people of Malta. It’s history started out in 5200BC when stone age farmers from the large island of Sicily came to this place and started to live there. They even built the oldest free-standing structures and oldest religious structures in the world. Centuries after Greeks began to appear, as well as Phoenician traders. Then later Carthage and then Rome came to control the islands. This place even came under the control of Napoleon during the French revolutionary wars. It was also once under British control, so even if Malta has a diverse culture, the people there mainly speak Maltese and English. Some of the culture of Malta can be seen in their fine cuisines, which range from Maltese soup to Italian pasta to different Mediterranean pastries, all of which are combined to make a blend of Mediterranean diet.
