After the technology has given such a boost in the field of music, if the CD player stops working suddenly, it makes us worried and also people are prepared to shell out large sums of money to repair it though the problem may be simple. A journey with no music would be out of the question these days. Hence repairing a music system can be done by the user by following simple steps. But how is car CD troubleshooting done? There are mainly three types of inspection needed to find out the error in the player. The first step is to narrow down the trouble by following few other steps, checking the wire connection is another primary things to be done and checking for trouble in the playback of the CD.
These steps can ensure that a simple problem can be solved by the user himself and does not require any professional’s help. But in case the CD player does not play even after these steps then the problem could be deeper and might require some professional help. The first step is to determine where the problem is. Check whether it is in the radio or music player and the like. This can be done immediately by playing the radio. If the radio works it shows that there is some technical fault with the player. The speakers must also be checked if both are playing properly or if any one of the speakers is not.
Once the problem is known, more steps should be taken to check for the balance and other controls. This is done to make sure that the speaker is truly not working. If the problem is with the CD and no light is being turned on when the CD is inserted, the wiring and the various connections are to be checked. These wires and connections can be checked below the covering of the car. The connection of the power cable of the music player to the battery must also be checked. Leave no option and check all possibility including the fuse of the car as well as that of the player.
Another possibility might be due to the damaged connections. To check this, the wires can be connected to electric meter which is available in shops. This electric meter gives a reading if there is power supply. Therefore if the wires are not connected properly or have disconnected somewhere it will show no reading. The wires can be obtained but removing the player after unscrewing the speakers.
If the stereo or player set has some many other smaller parts with connections, the same is done with that also. The electric meter can be used and the reading can be checked.
If any playback problem is present, the harness of the player must be checked. If there is no problem with the harness the connections can be removed from the battery for few minutes. This would reset the controls and might be helpful in solving issues.
Above steps can be followed to find the trouble in the CD player. But to prevent further problem it is essential to clean the CD before use with the help of soft cloth and a solvent. These are few steps of car CD troubleshooting.
