XERL8 decided to discontinue their Multi Level Marketing Program on Jan. 19, 2010. Their compensation plan will be terminated on Feb.28, 2010. This was the information given out in a letter to all the XERL8 distributors.
Alas, another one bites the dust! However familiar this may be, I can't help but think about the distributors who had their hopes, not to mention their income, pulled out from under them. Top leaders like Tom Chenault and Garret McGrath have to stand by and watch their hard work plummet as well. However heartbreaking this may be to XELR8 distributors, it may also be a hard lesson learned in the concept of personal branding.

Most of the people in the entire network marketing industry have their central allegiance to their specific company. This is indeed great, but in situations like this, you need to appreciate that your first allegiance is to you and YOU only. If you have not branded yourself as a network marketing leader, then you may fall prey to the same situation as the XERLR8 reps. At this time, many of them are saying to themselves "Now What?"
However, the leaders who have branded themselves will move to another business, and because they have worked on their personal branding and their reputation as a leader, they will have all of their followers come with them. If this isn't going to happen to you, next time around maybe take the time to market yourself and put yourself in the position as a knowledgeable leader. How you may ask?
To be a well-informed leader, you first need to have great knowledge in a particular area. What is the one area where people are either leading the pack, or people are desperately trying to catch up? The internet. The internet is the place to be right now, and if you are not marketing yourself and your business online, then you will soon be lost in the cyber shuffle of yesteryear. If you can be a leader of online marketing, this skill will not only help you brand yourself, but it will gain you a big following. When you have people following you on a daily basis, you will have a greater ability to sponsor people into your MLM companies as well.
To be an online leader, you must also know that you can't have all your eggs in one basket. You're main business should not be your only source of business income. As demonstrated by the XELR8 demise. If you're primary business goes under, you should still be receiving income from several areas. If this isn't happening for you, or you aren't sure how to make this happen, we need to talk. If you are looking for a leader who can show you some network marketing companies that have been not only successful, but that are still in their momentum phase, we need to talk. I sincerely feel for those of you in XELR8 because I went through the exact same thing a few years back, and had no idea where to turn for help, or what direction I should go. I certainly learned my lesson, and there is no way I would ever be left high and dry again.
