Car stereo is an integrated part of a car. A big question raises in everyone s mind on how to test a car stereo. Your system s entire sound can be enhanced by replacing the stock stereo of your car. This is said to be one of the best method to bring in an improvement in the sound quality of your car stereo system. In spite of giving a higher power output the new stereo system also brings a betterment in both the clarity and quality of sound in your car.

The very first thing to be done after installation of a new stereo system is its testing. Testing of a stereo system not only confirms the working of it but also ensures the correct handling of stereo parts. This process of testing also enables one in setting an equalizer.

The first step in testing of a newly installed car stereo is its connections. One must ensure that all the wires and its connections are given perfectly. A problem in this may lead to malfunction or even leakage of current causing electric shocks. Only after this is ensured the fuses and batteries are reconnected to the car stereo.

The engine is turned on and the car is set to be idle for some time. The volume level is set to be in the lowest range and then the stereo is switched on. Two ways of carrying out this process may either be done by conventional method of pressing the power switch or it can also be done with the help of a remote control.

Either the stereo can be tuned to a specific radio station or a desired CD can be inserted. The volume can be gradually brought to a medium level. For effective working of the speakers at the front and the rear ends, the balance and the fade controls are to be adjusted accordingly. The range of the stereo can be tested by tuning the radio station to various channels that play different kind of music like pop and jazz. By doing so the clarity of the sound from the car stereo can also be checked.

Next, a CD with more bass is inserted and the equalizer of the car stereo is adjusted in such a way so as to match the bass of the newly inserted CD. In order to listen to the vocals along with the bass the mid range sounds as well as the treble should be adjusted accordingly. The equalizer presets can be scrolled through for identifying the best playing option for this kind of music.

In order to check the limit of your car stereo the volume can be raised to the maximum level. And the volume should be reduced when a distortion or cracking sound is observed. Thus a proper sound level can be set. This kind of testing operations should not be carried out while driving.

The answer to the question how to test a car stereo can be well answered by the above simplified methodology of testing.
