If you are sitting at your work desk in your office, and you feel the urge to smoke, just leave your chair and take a short walk. You can even go to another part of the building or just go up and down the stairs. As you take a brisk walk, you inhale fresh air into your lungs. By the time you return to your work desk, your lungs will feel fresh and the urge to smoke will disappear.

Another alternative to that urge for smoking is deep breathing in your desk itself. As you inhale the fresh air, you can almost feel its purity and healthiness as there is no smoke in it. This deep breathing exercise as a smoking alternative should be continued for some time until you feel that you don’t want to smoke anymore. Another smoking alternative option is having some dark chocolate just when you feel the urge to smoke. Dark chocolate can improve the serotonin levels in your brain thus relieving you of stress, which is the primary reason why people smoke.
