The Jeep Grand Cherokee (2005 2007) belongs to the mid sized cars. This car is produced by the Chrysler group jeep division. Austria and Magna Steyr are the sites of production of this jeep Grand Cherokee. The production of this car began in the year 1993 and till today it’s been manufactured and sold. The car manufactured from 1993 to 2010 belonged to the class mid size SUV. The cars to be manufactured from 2011 will belong to the class mid size crossover SUV. It has a body style of 4 doors SUV. This car is commonly known as Jeep Grand Wagoneer.
This design of the car was an outcome of the attempt of the American Motor Engineers to find a successor to the small jeep Cherokee. Larry Shinoda, Giorgetta Giugiaro and Adam Clenet were the three non AMC’s who created “XJC” project, a replacement model and also built a clay model for the same. However the AMC’s designers replaced the basic design of Cherokee. This was the first jeep product of the Chrysler group of companies which was a launched in a grand manner at North American international auto show in Detroit, Michigan in the year 1992. The feature of the all new Grand Cherokee which was launched in 2004 and named as 2005 model are Quadra Drive II four wheel drive, optional 5.7L HemiV8 and rear seat DVD Player.

These were available for the first time. Also, 4.0L Straight6 engine was replaced by a 3.7L V6 engine. Detroit, Michigan, United States and Graz, Austria are the places were they are assembled. It has got the WK platform. There a 5 different configurations available for this car. They are 3.0L OM642 V6 CRD, 3.7L Power Tech V6, 4.7L Power Tech V8,5.7L Hemi V8,6.1L HemiV8(SRT 8).The 5 speed 545RFE and 5 Speed W5A580 are the two automatic transmissions provided. The Wheel base is 109.5 inches and the curb weight is 2,210kg. The length is 195.1inches with the width of 84.2 inches and the height of it is about 67.4 inches. The models available in 2005 2007 are Laredo, Limited, Overland, and SRT 8. The power of the car is nearly 265hp with a torque of 305 lb ft. The luxury and power are two areas still on design highlight. Vibration, noise and harshness are also the places where significant work is begin done.
The on road performance was also taken into considerable amount for its brand’s cornerstone. The European Debut of the jeep Grand Cherokee was made at Euro camp which was held in Ardeche, France in the year 2007.The fourth generation of the car is to be launched in the year 2011.A filter for diesel particulate used to reduce the emission exhaust was included in 3.0L V6 CRD 2007 models in North America. The radio dash kit for this car consists of an aerial adapter, Fascia plate and harness adapter. Maintaining high quality has great importance when it comes to installation and usage.
