Acne is something that many people have to deal with. It generally starts in the teen years but adults can also have trouble with it as well. No one wants to deal with unsightly pimples and to make matter worse; sometimes the acne can be painful and leave scars if not treated properly. So how do you know what treatment is right for you with so many products out on the market today?
There are basically 3 types of treatments available to help you treat acne. One way is to go to the dermatologist and have him or her help you to treat or remove the acne with prescription medications and treatments. Another way is to use over the counter medications and treatments and the third way is to use all natural treatments. With all of these methods, how do you know which is the right one for you?

The first thing you need to do is look at all of your choices in treatments and cures. Take for instance over the counter treatments. There are many types of creams, gels, medicated pad and facial washes to name a few. Over the counter treatments are the most commonly used but the truth is that many people find that it takes some time to cure their acne with these types of treatments. Most of these contain various chemicals that can irritate your acne further, which can cause more harm than good.
Your skin can become dried out and flaky which can irritate the acne causing more breakouts. Many of the natural acne removal treatments are made up of all natural products such as herbs, nutrients, as well as vitamins. These types of treatments are much gentler on the skin and many people find that this cures their acne problems much faster and on a more permanent basis.
There are many natural treatments that you can make up yourself right in your own home with items you have in your kitchen. One of the most purest and natural treatments would be water. A leading cause of acne is that people have dry skin that can become flaky and clog your pours. It is recommended that you get at least 8 to 10 glasses of water daily. If you are not getting this, you are not properly hydrating your skin and your skin will look pale, dry and it will cause unwanted breakouts.
While each person is different, it only makes sense that what works well for one person may not work at all for another. Therefore, some over the counter treatments may be ideal for some whereas natural acne cures may work wonders for others. It is best that you try to avoid using any products that have chemicals as this can only cause more problems in the long run. It is always good to check with your doctor prior to starting any type of home treatment to be sure that you are doing what is best for you and your particular situation.
