When you start programming of web pages programming languages comes in the picture. PHP is widely used for programming in other words you can say PHP is the leader. Generally web designers do not have much technical knowledge of programming language.

My SQL is the most popular database used today. For web developers it is beneficial to have knowledge of it as it will help them to develop a highly efficient website.
Adobe Flash:
Using Adobe Flash, web developers can create interesting animated objects. Knowledge of Flash is useful to design attractive website. This will help them to enhance design knowledge.

Now days search Engine optimization is critical aspect of web design as it will help your website to get high ranking on search engines. Anyone who is building web sites should know that HTML is closely associated with SEO because HTML will decide the presentation quality of content and graphics.
