Generally neck ties are a masculine accessory piece, that has been worn by men for generations. And although neck ties are a staple in every man's wardrobe, the fact is that, fashion and how to wear clothes has changed quite a bit. I mean, you would wear a tie, the same way they wore it twenty or thirty years ago, would you? So the first thing you need to know is that if you are going to wear a neck tie, for a formal or informal event, you should stray away from big neck ties. Try either a medium or even a skinny tie, not a big, thick tie. Thick ties seem a little stuffy and out of date, which is something that you don't want. Also try to go for colors that go with the season, like for the winter, richer autumn tones like maroons and browns. And stray away from bright and fluorescent colors, they may have looked cool in the 80's, but they look absolutely ridiculous on a grown man.
But if you want another great option that the regular run-of-the-mill tie, try a nice bow tie. Bow ties these days are becoming an ever popular trend, and I can see why. But bow ties are not for formal events anymore. Certainly you can wear bow ties with your favorite tuxedo, but more recently bow ties are being implemented into everyday wardrobes. You can certainly wear a casual cotton bow tie with a simple collared button down, with a cardigan and a great pair of nice fitting jeans. And with the absolutely fabulous fabrics, prints and colors available in the stores, there is definitely a little something for everyone.

From formal ties to a cute little bow tie, it seems that neck ties are becoming even more popular than in years past. With the popularity of all ties and bow ties there is always a great selection of styles and brands that can satisfy any taste and any budget. It's always nice to see that men's fashion is becoming a little more put together and chic, and it is definitely a relief that the neck tie is back with full force.
