The Diet Solution Program - A Glycemic Index Diet Plan?

In this piece we go over one of the best current low GI diet plans today: the well-liked Diet Solution Program (DSP). DSP is glowingly referred to as: "one of the most comprehensive books I’ve ever read and the closest thing to a nutrition bible which I’ve encountered," by weight loss expert John Davenport. We also compare and contrast it to popular metabolic glycemic index (GI) diet plans. Due to the current obesity epidemic, these plans are becoming increasingly popular.

As a weight loss coach, and having had fantastic victory with glycemic index diet plans, I'm often asked my opinion about new trendy diets for contrast. With surprising ease, I've lost 35 pounds using a low GI diet plan and both identify with and appreciate the science underpinning this tactic.
Of these, we are most familiar with the Healthy for Life Program, pioneered by Dr. Ray Strand. DSP similarly understands the fact that foods that quickly "metabolize" into sugar are detrimental to health. They are aware of the glycemic stress following poor meal choices that forces blood insulin levels beyond the limits. The DSP line of attack is identical to low glycemic diet plans, including advising of certain foods to avoid vs. favor. This is the same as the typical glycemic index diet plans. For instance, the advice in Jorge Cruise's "Belly Fat Cure" is also similar to DSP. The Belly Fat Cure, especially, teaches that the kind of calories are much more important that the amount eaten.
DSP incorporates comparable recommendations for healthy vs. unhealthy fats and guidance on the processed foods to stay away from for best results. And, DSP uses the consistent calorie counting advice, often heard in most glycemic index diet plans, which is: "You don't need to count calories."
All in all, the Diet Solution Program provides the same basic guidance as we've been aware of in several other glycemic index diet plans. They seem to have realized the benefits for their approach, based on experience vs. science. This is of little import since results are the key. Finally, DSP is set apart from common glycemic index diet plans, by using metabolic typing to make specific recommendations. This makes DSP different from otherwise comparable glycemic index diet plans, in view of the fact that it provides an individualized approach.
