How to Avoid Excessive Underarm Sweating

People don't normally want to talk about sweating since it is associated with improper hygiene practice of a person. This is the reason why some people who suffer from excessive underarm sweating hide their situations without seeing for a medical help or cure. The armpit is one of the most common areas where a person sweats. Axillary hyperhidrosis is the medical term used for excessive underarm sweating of a person.

There may be different causes behind excessive underarm sweating. These causes may range from heredity, food intake, lack of exercise, or even some medical conditions like menopause in women, or obesity. Although sweating plays an important function in our body like temperature control and do away with harmful bacteria and toxins inside the body and in the skin, excessive sweating makes a person less esteemed. Some people even try not to be in public places to avoid embarrassing situations.

Overactive sweat glands are the main reason why people suffer from excessive underarm sweating. This can be brought by other medical conditions or the food that a person eats. Also, some chemicals applied to a person's body also trigger underarm sweating and even the foul odor emitted by a person. Bad odor happens since bacteria are accumulated in some areas.

Some people use deodorant to cure the odor and soap the body thinking that it will lessen their sweating. But some of the deodorants and soaps contain chemicals that may not suit some people. It is advisable that they change their deodorants and soap to a more natural ingredients. The bacteria can be stored in the remnants of the deodorant and the soap. Thus it would be better to really clean the body of a person.

Excessive underarm sweating frequently starts around puberty. When this happens, teens tend to do away with social gatherings to avoid themselves being ridiculed and laughed at. The situation may stop at a certain age while others continue having sweaty underarm until the late years. It is said to be hereditary but it should be noted that it could be stopped using the right medications. By knowing where it started, and what caused the excessive underarm sweating, it would be easier to cure it.

Patients who suffer from excessive underarm sweating might have to change their shirt more than three times a day. Since sweating can stain the clothes, people become less interested in gatherings and parties which may cause his body to sweat a lot. Severe cases may lead a person to be an outcast due to bad comments and negative attention received from peers co-workers.

There are surgical treatments offered to cure excessive underarm sweating. Botox can also cure sweating. But these surgeries may be too costly and hurting for a person. There can be many other ways to cure excessive underarm sweating like drinking lots of water in a day. Also, maintaining a diet low in fat, sugar, salt and spices can lessen the sweating of a person. These natural remedies may be a better option for people who want to control sweating. Aside from these are less expensive, it is also less hurting.
