Understanding Google Page Rank to get High Rankings of a Website

Google's Page rank is basically a concept which is quite often misunderstood, yet the concept is relatively easy to understand. It's Google's method of indexing all websites based on how important it feels they are in the internet community. If you understood how this method works, you'll know how to get your website on high rankings. Remember, it is page based, not website based.

To rank a page, Google looks for the amount of links which are from other websites. The more links, the higher page rank. Each link falls into grade of ranking; all links are not considered equal. Pages with high ranks are more powerful allies than those with lower page rank. As an example, receiving a link from a PR6 page is more beneficial than 30 links from pages with PR1. It's the quality of the links which makes the difference not the quantity.

There is an equation for how much PR values a page will get from a link, its ok if you do not bother about it- just try to get those PR3 and up links.

The crucial factors which determine the Page rank of a page are as follows:

A.A Page rank can come from external websites linking to your page, and also from other pages within your own website linking back to your web page.

B.The more pages in website, the higher the page rank.

C.Remember, it is very important to manage the flow of these links so that they go back to your most important pages. Don't try to link back to your "contact us" page, only link back to the page you want to rank high.

D.A key factor is the number of external quality websites which link back to you.

These points will be useful for you when you are constructing your website. You can concentrate on getting quality links back from quality websites. One important way of doing this is to put useful and relevant information on your website. It will actually attract people to link back to your website. This is why the authority websites are having high PR. You can submit your website to website directories, blogs, and submit articles to article directories.
You can purchase links as those links are powerful and easier than links you get by normal methods, Remember, Google definitely will penalize you if they find out you are buying links. A better idea is to seek links from websites which are relevant to your own website.

You need to make sure that the web page which is linking to your website has been indexed by Google, if the page is not indexed, the search engines won't find the link, and the result is, you won't get any credit for it.

You can get indexed links by setting up a page outside of your main website. It need not be actual website, just leave a comment indicating a link on a blog, or on a Twitter profile.
Reciprocal links are not considered to be as powerful as one-way links so try to receive one-way links from other websites.
