Going on a kayaking tour is an adrenaline pumping adventure that can create memories that will ultimately last a lifetime. You don’t have to have any experience in the sport of kayaking nor do you need to own your own kayak or equipment when going on a kayaking tour as the tour company you select will provide you with everything you need to have the thrill of a lifetime.

Before you choose what kayaking tour is right for you, there are a few things that you should consider such as:

•Your experience: When talking with a kayaking tour company it is important for you to convey to them the level of experience you have in the sport of kayaking. This is important especially with white water kayaking as there are different levels of difficulty and you don’t want to book a tour on a level that you can’t handle. Be honest with yourself when asking how much experience you have. A kayaking tour that is not suited to your skill level will not be very much fun and may result in injury.

•Type of kayaking you like: Do you like to white water kayaking, lake or still water kayaking, or sea kayaking? If you are not sure what the differences are then you need to talk at length with the tour company and ask them to explain to you the pros and cons of each. They all offer thrills, but one will be more suited for you than the others.

•How much you want to spend: Different kayaking tours are obviously going to come with different price tags. You should have an idea of what you want to spend before you even begin to make inquiries and then go from there. Sometimes you can save money if you have your own kayak or your own equipment so if you plan on taking a good number of kayaking tours you may want to consider investing in some different equipment.

•What kind of reputation does the tour company have: Here’s a point that is often overlooked. Instead of just looking in the Yellow Pages and picking out the first name you find, take some time and go online to actually research the tour company you are considering. Look for companies that have reviews from past participants and see what the feedback is. You should also be sure to tour the facilities of the kayaking tour company before you decide to go with them or not. If you are planning a trip in a different state, try to find a website that offers a lot of pictures or call the kayaking tour company and ask for a brochure to be sent to you.

Lastly you will need to consider what time of year you are taking your kayaking tour and in what state you will be going to. Almost every state has a wealth of information available online when it comes to kayaking tours so you should take your time and select a company that will not only provide you with a good deal, but will be able to provide you with a good time as well.
