Sariska National Park boasts of its project tiger and the other animals inside the park. As there are lodging facilities inside the park, there are also lots of attractions to see near this park.

Sariska National Park is considered as one amongst many of India’s most visited parks. Although its popularity is not majorly on its wildlife population, it is because of its excellent location and closeness to large towns like Jaipur and Delhi. Years ago, the park acts as the “hunting reserve” of the region’s “Royal Family of Alwar Rajasthan”.

In 1958, the park was instigated as a wildlife sanctuary. Later on, in the year 1979, it became the Sariska Tiger Reserve due to its “project tiger”.

Sariska National Park is about 800 sq. kilometers. The core area of the park alone covers 480 sq. kilometers. It lies along Rajasthan’s Alwar district by the Aravalli Hill ranges.

The park is open throughout the year since there are many monuments that had religious importance inside its premises. If you’re planning to visit this park, the best time is during October to June and the summer season but it can be extremely hot as the temperature may sometimes go as high as 49 deg C. For the winter season, the temperature goes as low as 4 degrees.

The park houses lots of carnivores like the wild dog, leopard, hyena, jungle cat, tiger and the jackal. These animals feed on the chitel, sambar, chausingha, nilgai, langur and wild boar which are also found in Sariska National Park. There are also the Rhesus Monkeys by the Talyriksh. When it comes to its avian world, it will surprise you with its varied and rich bird life. You’ll find here the grey partridge, peafowl, sand grouse and bush quail as well as the crested serpent eagle, great Indian horned owl, tree pie and the golden backed wood pecker.
