Most people think that fat burning training involves only cardiovascular exercises, such as running on treadmills and using elliptical machines. Then again, cardiovascular exercise is only one part of a truly effective fat burning training program. In actuality, a fat burning training program that involves only cardio will never achieve the results that you could get by incorporating weight training.

Many people incorrectly think that weight training is something that only bodybuilders do. Nevertheless, you should know that a total body transformation, resulting in a lean, athletic, and sculpted physique, will not happen unless you include intense resistance training in your workout regimen.

You must have a diet plan for proper nutrition as part of your fat loss program and for a healthy lifestyle, but alone this will not be enough.

Diet alone is actually detrimental as it leads to the loss of important muscle tissue. Since muscle tissue can affect the body's metabolic rate, losing muscle tissue can slow down the body's metabolism. When your metabolism slows down, your ability to burn fat also declines. Resistance training, cardiovascular exercise, and proper nutrition when combined are the best way to simultaneously build lean muscle and raise your metabolism.

To test this theory, simply go to your local gym. Take a look around at those with the most impressive physiques. If you closely study their fat burning training programs, you'll see that they combine weight training exercises with their cardio.

Then again, gyms are also full of people who spend hours slaving on cardiovascular machines, and yet they don't seem to lose any fat. These people believe the misconception that cardiovascular exercise alone can burn fat.

The addition of a good solid weight training routine into their fat burning training program is all these people need to achieve the lean, fit body they're after.
