If your goal is to shed body fat as fast and as safely as possible, then you are probably struggling with the decision of which foods to eat and which foods to avoid. In some diet plans carbohydrates are considered a no-no, but there are actually plenty of carbohydrates you can eat that will actually help you shed body fat.
You can most certainly have carbohydrates in your diet to shed body fat; simply select the ones that are as close as possible to their natural state. Basically, you're looking for carbs that can be tossed into your plate directly from the source.

There are various types of carbohydrates and even if you follow the above guidelines, there will be times when you will be left bewildered and will require help. Here are some pointers to help you:
Refined carbs will do NOTHING to help you shed body fat. That means you need to stay away from anything high in white sugar or made from white flour.
Refined carbs are known to raise blood sugar levels, besides containing little or no nutrition, and instead of helping you shed body fat they will increase it.
If you want something to help you shed body fat, grab some veggies. Low on calories, but high in bulk, they are an excellent choice. This means you can eat a large amount of them to fill yourself up without going overboard on calories.
In addition to vegetables, unrefined starches such as whole grains, potatoes, and oatmeal help shed body fat. They are high in fiber content and nutritional value, and in combination with a lean protein source, they work wonders.
Fruits are only okay if you are eating three or fewer servings each day. Even though fruit carbs are absorbed quickly into the bloodstream, they can still help you shed body fat if you consume them early on in the day.
When determining which carbs to eat to shed body fat, vegetables and unrefined starchy sources are your best bet.
Basic vegetables sources will work for you if you want to shed body fat fast. Vegetables are a rich source of antioxidants, vitamins, and minerals; in short, they are a one stop food source for meeting with all your requirements. This high nutrition, low calorie food option is an ideal choice to help you shed body fat quickly.
Vegetables are bulky and they put you at an advantage since they can fill you up faster without adding significant calories. In addition, green vegetables help regulate blood sugar, making them even better choices. Think of cabbage, broccoli, asparagus, celery, and zucchini when choosing the right vegetables to help you shed body fat.
Your maximum carbohydrate bulk must come from green fibrous vegetables followed by the following carbohydrates: white potatoes, yams, brown rice, barley and rye, sweet potatoes, oatmeal, whole grain cereals and breads, and lentils.
Enjoy the following carbohydrates in moderation: apples, apricots, pears, plums, grapes, fresh peaches, oranges, kiwi fruit, bananas, grapefruit and cherries; not to mention nonfat yogurt and skim milk.
