If you are a dieter, I'm sure you know that there are both good and bad foods for a diet. Foods that are considered good for a diet will turbo-charge your metabolism, while those that are deemed bad will make your body prone to storing fat and your body structure soft and flabby.

1) Margarine is definitely one of the worst foods for a diet. It is loaded with trans fats, which are the worst kind of fats that one can ever eat, and it has a high caloric content.

2) White bread is devoid of all the nutrition that whole grain bread provides, making it one of the worst foods for a diet. It should serve as a complex carbohydrate, but it acts more like a simple sugar; as a result, white bread raises your insulin levels and causes your body to store more fat.

3) High in trans fats and carcinogens, French fries are also one of the 12 worst foods for a diet. Many health experts agree that even when consumed in moderation French fries are still unsafe for your body.

4) Also on the list of the 12 worst foods for a diet is processed cheese. Most of it is just salt, fat, and calories, with very little nutritional value. Processed cheese companies, in fact, are legally bound to labels their products as "cheese food" or "cheese product."

5) With about 3.7 percent fat content, whole milk, in one glass, has twice the calories that skim milk. For the best results, opt for skim milk instead.

6) Also on the list of the worst foods for a diet are bacon and sausages If you eat three slices of bacon, that's about 300 calories, most of which are from fat.

7) Also on the list of the worst foods for a diet that you can eat are cookies and crackers. They are also high in simple sugars, which keep your blood sugar levels unbalanced and contribute to fat storage.

8) Stay away from high sugar breakfast cereals as they are certainly not good foods for a diet. If you want a healthy breakfast cereal, look for one that's made from 100% whole grains and is completely sugar-free.

9) Another food that is best avoided is commercial peanut butter, which is high in fat and calories. You can have natural peanut butter occasionally, but commercial brands are loaded with unhealthy additives like high fructose corn syrup and hydrogenated oils.

10) Avoiding donuts should be a no-brainer. High in calories, fat, and sugar, these tasty numbers will only help you pack on the pounds; they are among the worst foods for a diet of any kind.

11) Drinking large portions of your caloric intake is never a wise idea, and soft drinks should be completely avoided when following a fat-loss program. These are loaded with sugar and calories, with zero nutritional value.

12) Not only are most ice cream dishes loaded with calories, but the majority of those calories are coming from a combination of saturated fat and simple sugar. Add in the artificial flavorings, fillers, and preservatives that are present in most ice cream products, and it's clear that they are one of the worst foods for a diet.
