The Myth of the Perfect Bodybuilding Workout Plan

I'm a perfectionist. If I want something done, I want to get it done right. I get frustrated when something isn't working.

I have spent years training in the gym, so by now I have realized that there is no perfect bodybuilding workout plan, and this way of thinking can be bad for a natural bodybuilder. If you're serious about achieving a strong, muscular physique, leave your perfectionist attitude at the door.

Bodybuilding is an ongoing process, and just like life, it is filled with achievements and setbacks, ups and downs, and peaks and recessions.

Your job is never done. Point B does not exist. It takes a concerted, motivated bodybuilding workout plan to build up muscle, and it takes an equally motivated bodybuilding workout plan to keep that muscle

Hard work in the gym and dedication to your eating plan is a continual price you must pay in exchange for the dream body you want to build or maintain. It's important to realize that no journey is perfect. There will always be setbacks with your eating and training, so be prepared for them.

If you expect perfection from your bodybuilding workout plan, you are doomed because a perfect program does not exist. This is where the line is drawn between the champions and the wannabes; those who can experience long-term success versus those who fall off along the way.

You must treat your setbacks as an inevitable part of the entire muscle-building process. There are several times when your bodybuilding workout plan will be at its peak, and you will see no end in sight; at other times, you will want to quit because you're faced with setbacks beyond your control.

Along the way, you will face many bumps on the road…

What if you catch a cold or the flu and lose 10 pounds? There will be times when you go on vacation and have limited access to a gym or to proper bodybuilding foods. Your bodybuilding workout plan will be affected if you end up getting injured.

There will be those days when you choose to skip meals. On occasion, you will probably skip workouts. There will be times when you give in to temptations that will harm your bodybuilding progress. Sometimes, your desire to keep going will disappear and you'll question whether or not the whole bodybuilding thing is even something you should pursue.

This is the reality of it all, and as a serious natural bodybuilder for many years, I can say with certainty that all of the above scenarios have presented themselves to me on many, many occasions. If you can handle adversity, you will become a successful bodybuilder.

Both your progress and motivation will rise and fall along the way, but will you make a stand and accept these swings for what they are and continue training hard despite them? Or will you quit when things don't go your way?

You have to accept that no journey is perfect.

You'll make mistakes along the way and that's just part of the progress. The difference between long-term success and failure is whether or not you choose to accept and implement this way of thinking along the way.

Successful lifters get tossed into holes, but know how to dig themselves out. Unsuccessful lifters get discouraged and remain buried.

Since I've done this for years, I've watched more people come and go in the gym than I would even want to count.

In spite of this, I'm still here.
