Long archival life, increased data integrity and high output frequency at a stable rate is ensured in LTO-3 backup tape format designed by TDK. TDK has developed 2 new types of binders for the LTO 3 tape format. These binders are TDC (three dimensional compounds) thermo-setting & EB (electron beam curing). Magnetic material is used for coating the upper layer of the TDK ultrium-3 tape reel while on the other hand the lower layer of tape reel is made from non-magnetic material.
