People who are suffering from weak eye-sight are always disheartened as they can't see this pretty world normally. But with the invention of contact lenses, all their worries are gone. Contact Lenses help you to see this incredible world more clearly, just like it seems to a person with a normal eye-sight! Contact lenses are specially designed to comfortably fit on your eye lens, giving you a natural look and providing you a clear vision you always longed for. So if you are tired and feel uncomfortable with your spectacles, then contact lenses will be your best option. Here are a few popular types of contact lenses that are widely available in the market:

- Hard Contact Lenses: Hard Contact Lenses are made from semi-plastic element and let oxygen seep into them and are generally termed as Rigid Permeable Lenses-RPG Lenses. People don't prefer this type of contact lenses these days. Although, these are considered to be the best lenses for treating some optical disorders or vision problems and are often preferred by people who wish to get clearer vision.

- Soft Contact Lenses: Soft Contact Lenses are developed just recently with a special purpose. They are made up of plastic with 80% water. These offer maximum level of comfort and suit all types of eyes perfectly. As these are extremely soft and comfortable as compared to any other type of contact lenses, people prefer wearing these types of lenses. However, if you wear it for longer period, impurities like grime get accumulated on it thereby obstructing your vision. There are two types of Soft Contact Lenses:
a) Extended Soft Contact Lenses: These types of contact lenses can be worn for long hours, even overnight.
b) Disposable Soft Contact Lenses: The wearer can dispose these types of contact lenses after some specified period of time. However, he/she has to keep a fresh set of contact lenses ready before he/she disposes it off.

- In the RPG Lenses, the kind of plastic used to make its eye-piece, causes slight discomfort to the wearer. Over a period of time, the eye adjusts itself to this sort of discomfort and unease, thereby providing sharper and clear vision as compared to soft contact lenses. Moreover, these are long-lasting and hard. They are also comparatively costlier. Extended RPG Lenses are also available allowing the wearer to wear it overnight.

- Toric Lenses are made up of RPG and Soft Contact Lenses. These types of contact lenses are designed in a manner, like a curvature to fix the eye at a particular portion. Toric Lenses are widely used to treat astigmatism and have proved to be effective in severe cases too. However, you will find some other types of lenses to treat astigmatism.

- Bifocal Lenses: Bifocal Lenses are available in both, RPG and Soft Contact Lenses. It helps to activate the bifocal vision provided by specially designed glasses. However, one has to wait for sometime for the eye to adjust with this kind of lenses. The Bifocal effect is activated due to the fact that one lens is designed for nearer sight and the other lens is designed for farer vision.

- Novelty Wear Contact lenses can be worn for long hours and gives color to eyes like blue, green, brown etc.

- Extended Wear Contact Lenses are worn for long hours without removing these and are available in RPG and Soft Contact Lenses.
