All Work and No Play

Too much work and no play do not connote a productive life, even in big companies, offices, firms or establishments. They always have to come balanced. Imagine how life is without any form of play. You have nothing to look forward to in each day but purely work and boredom. You might even be unaware that your co worker whose table is just right across you is someone with the same interests as you do. There will be lots of unresolved differences in your workplace. All of which occurs when you have nothing but so much work to do. When your preoccupations has mainly focused on what is less important.

All big companies or even the small ones make use of the integration of play as strategy to bring out a good rapport within the work force through team buildings and outside office activities. Just a day or more of play within the employees and the big bosses, paintball can be considered, as one. Get down and dirty, something that does not usually take place in the office setting. Paintball can bring about teamwork, and strong determination as a group to turn down the opponents. Shoot them up and get dirty and muddy like the rest, that’s how paintball works. There is more to life than working all day, week, month and year long. Company outings, which include the families of employees, can be considered as a good outdoor activity. It brings out that family oriented side of you which also is a side of you that is unseen in the office. Remember, to know one another so well, is to make you appreciate and respect more of one another as a team of working buddies. Take note, I said working buddies, NOT working bodies, we must have a heart for our work. So we are all up to caring for one another, the company and the working relationship. We all have to develop deep concern for our work because it is not just about getting paid – it is about our families, our officemates and the love we have to develop for our work. And preoccupying ourselves with our good working relationships in the office would bring out naturally the best in each one of us.

As suggested, Paintball is one great and fun activity like company outing and all other activities outdoor. Get the field’s ready, aim to your opponents and win that battle. Anyway, life is work play balance. One cannot stand alone without the other. Remember, productivity is not just focusing your mind purely at work; it is focusing on working with your team mates. Just like in the games. It really helps to inject some play to iron out differences in your place of work. Play makes the boring, enjoyable. It builds friendships. It is not just getting the job done but also getting the job done and fixing out relationships with the rest of the work force. After all, you cannot play Paintball inside the office. All kinds of play have their appropriate places.
