- Arrange a perfect container: The container in which you will be placing your pretty flowers should be of sufficient height. It must be capable to cover at least 3-4 inches of the flower stems with water and must even support the bunch of flowers. - Trim the endings of flower stems: Trimming the ends of flower stem in cross cut is suggested. The diagonal cut extends the surface area thereby facilitating the absorption of sufficient water for the flowers. Trimming needs to be done by putting your flower stem below the cool water area. Cold water is best for flowers to be fresh for a long timeas warm water dries it.
- Make your vase ready: Fill sufficient water in your pot so that it covers 3-4 inches of flower stem. Mix some flower food or aspirin capsule to extend the life of your flowers.
- Remove the leaves on the flower stem: The leaves of the flower stem are sunken in water and this results in creation of bacteria. The bacteria are harmful for the life of your flowers. So it is essential to remove the leaves so as to prevent bacteria formation hence enhancing the life of your cut flowers. Moreover change the water from the flower vase in two to three days and also put fresh water at least once a day.
