In 2006, Europcar purchased the noted European Operations made with Alamo Rent a Car and the National Car Rental Company from their actual parent firms, Vanguard Car Rental Holdings.

When renting a car, call and speak with the appropriate representative regarding the types of car they have available. Find out if there are any discounts available to consumers.
Ask your friend to drive you to the office and make agreements for them to pick you up after you return the car. When you arrive at the location, provide your driver’s license. If you are under the age of 25 years old you will need to provide a higher deposit.
A representative of the car rental company will ask you to buy additional insurance for the car. This assessment is based on your own deductibles. Occasionally, it makes more sense to purchase their insurance.
Once all the paperwork is complete, look over the car at the parking lot before you drive it. Drive through the parking lot a few times so that you can get a feel of the car. Read the car manual for basic operations of the radio, air conditioning and other features of the car.
