Frigliana is a small, quiet village in Malaga, Spain. Aside from the fascinating historical attractions, it also has many rental houses to offer tourists and vacationers.

Frigliana is noted as a perfect portrait of Andaluz Village. Everywhere you go you will see narrow and cobble stoned streets with the usual white washed Moorish styled houses. Colorful flowers are overflowing through these houses’ terraces and balconies. Archways and niches, along with breathtaking hillsides landscaped with olive trees and avocado orchards that seem to slope down the Mediterranean vista. This is typically what you will see in Frigliana, a small, quiet town with lots of natural treasures to share.

Frigliana is just a short distance from Nerja, the regarded most important holiday resort on the stretch coast. This is why this small village is attracting so many tourists during the summer season. When others see it as a vacation spot, more people see it more as a retirement destination. In fact, most of the shops and restaurants in this quiet village are owned and run by foreigners.

Apart from this, most tourists going to Frigliana are there to witness and take pictures of their fascinating attractions such as the El Ingenio. This is a very old Sugar factory situated over by the main car parking area and underneath the Old Quarter’s entrance. This factory is spectacular because this is where sugar honey, liquors and molasses were produced and became the top industries of Frigliana from the 19th century up to the middle part of the last century. At current, sub tropical products like mangoes and avocados have taken over the scene.

Another popular attraction in Frigliana is El Fuerte. It is a hill situated over the village, where it took place the final battle and bloody defeat of La Axarquia’s Moors during the rebellion of 1569. In fact, when you go to this hill you will still see remnants of their ruined Moorish Fort.

Furthermore, there is the San Antonio Church from the 17th century which pleasantly overlooks the central village’s plaza. It is one of Frigliana’s noted historical buildings, built right on an old mosque’s site. This is evident since you can see that the Church’s bell tower was once the minaret of the mosque.

All these wonderful sightings placed Frigliana in the midst of tourist controversy, each wanting to see a piece of a beautiful history. Frigliana has even received a lot of rewards for its beauty and conservation of historical masterpieces.

Due to the influx of tourists coming here, many have opted for rental houses during their stay. Here are some of the rental houses still available in Frigliana:
