Dominican Republic is a country situated in the island of Hispaniola. The islad is shared with Haiti. Located on the eastern side of the island, it has several offshore islands and cays as part of its territory. It is a good vacation spot with many affordable hotels around.
Tourism boosts the economy of Dominican Republic. Travel and tourism employs 14.4 of its total labor force. It is continually working on ecotourism projects. More tourists are expected to visit Dominican Republic in the next years to come.

Dominican Republic’s main attractions are its long beautiful beaches where tourists can relax. There are also lots of music and food, cigars, professional winter baseball, and music festivals.
Giving added charm to the island are the museums and archaeological sites all open to the public. Most often, tourists from cold weather countries are the usual visitors of the island. To entice more guests, several local businesses have opened inexpensive hotels to make vacations or corporate meetings more affordable to clients.
