Do you know how your body systems inside work? Read further and know some interesting trivia about the human body.

Did you know that a man can still have an erection even if he is already dead? This phenomenon is called angel lust. It happens when a man dies in a vertical position. And mind you, this erection stays as long as the cadaver remains in this pose. Let’s know the explanation to this:

A living individual has his heart pumping blood uniformly throughout the body. But when the person expires, the heart ceases. The blood is driven by gravity making it descend at the legs and feet, the lowest part of the human’s body. This causes swelling of the feet’s tissues and blood vessels because they need to make room for blood.

When legs and feet are full, the blood will congest to the upper body and because of gravity force it will shift to a lower position, the penis. This makes the man’s penis to be filled with blood and swell. Furthermore, records have it that the smallest erect penis of a living person is 1¾ inches while the largest amounts to 13 inches.

Did you know that your eye produces tears to protect it from germs? The things it sees including movements, colors and shapes are sent to the brain for processing. Human’s eyes can create more tears than usual in order to protect themselves. Like if you have been slicing onions or in dusty place, or given a black eye.

Have you been wondering what is the half moon shaped whitish part at the bed of your nails, particularly obvious on the thumb? Although not everyone’s lunulae or lunula is noticeable, it is not without function. This tiny area can reveal signs of some illnesses including iron deficiency, heart ailments and kidney ailments.

Or do you know what the midline furrow between your upper lip and nose is called? It is called a philtrum and it enables man to convey a bigger lip actions range. So next time your curious little daughter ask you what it’s called, you’ll know what to say rather than giving her a raised eyebrow.

Do you still recall the exciting holiday trip you and your friends experienced a couple of years ago? When you try to think back to remember, you can see yourself spending the day kayaking or hiking or visiting a park or museum. Your brain, which works exceptionally, allows you to keep those scenes and happenings for you to cherish afterwards. When a thing happens, the brain decides whether it needs to be stored and it then put it in your memory.

Although the brain and memory are superb workers, they are not always perfect. Every now and then it is common to forget where you place your files or the name of your new neighbor or the answer to an exam. And as people grow older, they tend to fail to remember more things. Some injuries can trigger severe memory problems. Terrible falls, sports injuries and vehicular accidents that caused grave hit to the head can lead to brain injury. Therefore, it is highly crucial to protect your head by wearing a helmet or a seatbelt. For a great memory, maximize your brain. Do puzzles, read books, and challenge your brain.

And, come to think of it. A good laugh (and more of it each day) not only boosts your immune system and lower stress hormones but can also make you look younger and live longer.

The human body is just amazing. In the face of so many arguments about the genesis of the human race, human anatomy continues to be an interesting field. Understanding some basic truths about your body mechanisms helps you give more importance and take care of it better.
