The Sahara Desert has wonderful places to hang out. It can also be a perfect place for unwinding, venturing, and collecting memories. It is a place for nature lovers, the sporty, and for those who just want to spend quality time with their families and friends.
When we talk about deserts, we usually think of extremely hot climates, sand storms, lack of potable water, and some other things that connote difficult living. On the contrary, we overlook the good things that we may see on this body of land.

Indeed, we could unearth interesting sites and even historical remnants on these places. Some examples of these attractions are established on the Sahara Desert. In this part of the world, you can find remarkable places and sites from historical facts, to religiously inspired places, to recreational spots.
You can see a glimpse of historical events and historical heritage of one place through the style of architectures set along the establishments and landscapes found there. The two examples of these are the Kasbahs and fortresses that you could find in the villages near Sahara Desert. The famous Aït Benhaddou in Morocco is among these villages. Aït Benhaddou is one of the United Nations Educational, Scientific, and Cultural Organization (UNESCO) World Heritage Site.
The Kasbah is built with high walls without windows. Its main function is to protect the city from the intruders. That is why Kasbahs are normally built in strategic locations such as on the hilltop or near the harbors’ entrance.
The Kasbah used to serve as quarters of the chieftain of the city. It also acts as status symbols for some families. During those days, owning a Kasbah signifies power and wealth.
Since most of people in Sahara are Arabs, the prominent religion here is Islam. Iit is common to find here many mosques, places for Muslim worship.
There are certain places in Sahara that you can go if you would like to observe the typical religious activities and rituals of the dwellers in this place. You can go to the Sidi Ahmed Babo, the Rayem el Antri, the Sidi Aabdal la Ben Musa, the Sidi Bubequer and the Leyaraf in Western Sahara.
The Sahara Desert can also be a fantastic place for recreation. There are good beaches even in the dry and hot climate of the Sahara. The Canal de loss and the Playa de Pikin in Western Sahara are the perfect sites to visit. You can also go to Safi, El Jadida, Essaouiras, and to Agadir in Morocco. Also, the Cabonegro along the coast of Mediterranean sea offers excellent diving facilities.
The Sahara also provides ideal locations for those who want to be attached to nature. Try to stay at Morocco. Morocco has superb mountain ranges that cater fine opportunities for bird watching, site seeing, biking, and hiking. You could also engage in rafting activities along the rivers flowing down the mountain ranges.
If you are the sporty type, you can go to the Atlas Mountains. This place is wonderful for skiing activities. Skiing adventures are available in Ifrane, Mount Tidiquin, Ouikaiden, and in Mischliffen, too.
Of course, there are also market places that you can visit while staying in Sahara. They are usually in the cities. You can discover one famous market place in Western Sahara in Marrakech, Morocco. You can find here almost everything you need including native products, delicacies, and more.
