Many parents believe in providing the very best of education for their children. Towards this, parents make a good number of sacrifices. With the hard-earned money, they employ specialist private tutors for improving the grades of their children. For parents who can afford to do so, it is simply perfect since private schools and extra tuitions are regarded as long-term investments to ensure their child's brightest future. Individual tuitions are increasingly being opted by many students and parents. There could be reasons for parents and children to turn to a tutor for gaining individual help.
Perhaps, the student might be finding it difficult to grasp certain topics. The difficulty in grasping a topic might be attributed to a lack of confidence in a subject. Or possibly, the child is not quite at the knowledge level required of a typical student of his age, and therefore needs a facilitator to enable him to progress in his studies. Whatever the reason, a good tutor can make a positive impact upon his students. The result of this impact will manifest in a number of ways, and most obviously in the form of improved results and grades. As a positive result, many parents see a perceptible increase in confidence in their children. This could happen due to a sense of achievement and an increased awareness of their capabilities. Improving by two or three grades is deemed excellent for a student as well as a talented tutor.

Having and building a good rapport between the student and the tutor is often of vital importance. The positive working relationship can lead to better understanding of the student’s strengths and weaknesses in different subject areas. Of course, high quality one-on-one tuition does not come cheap; however there have been moves from the part of the government in the UK to provide the benefits of tuition without paying the fees associated with it.
One of the UK government's new-fangled education initiatives involves making one-on-one tuition available in every school, only to those pupils who need it the most. Millions of pounds have been set aside for the new scheme with the aim of recruiting 100,000 qualified tutors to provide assistance to the needy students. The brave initiative by the UK government to spend this much money on student tuition should be applauded. This policy will provide major benefits to a wide range of students across different age groups.
Some people have apprehensions regarding the quality of teaching in the classrooms, as more and more students are turning to one-on-one tuition sessions in order to boost their exam results. Still others believe that the money could be put to better use if spent for other purposes such as increasing the number of class rooms and reducing the class sizes.
Even though most of the students in a class perform almost close to their abilities and potential, there will inevitably be some students that lag behind. By giving individual attention, students can definitely improve upon their performance, and thereby boost their confidence levels and grades.
