The Italian industry, one of the top components of international leadership, builds tool machines, robot and automation and it is characterized by some distinctive elements that make it a completely original entity in the world panorama.

The “diversity” is already clear in the structure of the production complex, much more fragmented than in other countries. The vast majority of the more than 400 enterprises operating in Italy is indeed of small and medium size: the typical company that produces industrial machinery tool, whose management is taken care directly by the entrepreneur, does not occupy more than 70 employees, compared with the 200 employees that represent the average of Japanese and German industries, in addition much more vertically integrated.

The limited size of these companies is best exploited by the Italian manufacturers, able to assert themselves in every corner of the world thanks to their qualities of flexibility and agility that no other manufacturer has ever been able to fully express.
Not by chance, among the most remarkable aptitudes developed by the Italian manufacturers of industrial equipments, there is the providing of personalized equipments and machinery, that are made according the specific needs expressed by users.
As regards the quality of this sector of Made in Italy, it is significant that almost 70% of machine tools produced in Italy is electronically governed, of which 20% is part of integrated systems (cells and systems made up of more than three machines).

Italian industry that produces machine tools, robot and automation is made up of companies whose management is usually taken care of directly by the entrepreneur, are identified by a strong propensity to export and high quality.
Apart from quality, flexibility, reliability and customization, the Italian offer is also characterized by a trade policy that, applying the principle that technology should be shared, leads companies to offer itself on all markets with an approach of full availability to dialogue and cooperation.

Just before the economic crisis, Italy was in the fourth place among world producers of industrial tools, after Japan, Germany and China. A placement of all respect for a nation certainly not full of raw materials. In the first four months of the year a sharp decline in exports has been registered, such as a consistent fall in imports (in line with expectations).
Total exports fell by 19,3% over the same period of 2008, reaching 756 million euro. Now, after a bad year, orders are starting to rise again, giving a little breath to entrepreneurs. Total imports fell by 50,3% on 2008, for a value of 240 million.

This brings the Italian companies to seek to be cutting edge in production techniques and marketing strategies.
Not by chance now also the e-commerce sector is strongly developing, which promises to be another good channel for sale.
