Inexpensive Dog Beds

Is it time to find a new place for your dog to sleep? Are you tired of your dog snoring or hogging the bed? Maybe it’s time to go look at inexpensive dog beds so you can get some much needed sleep. I just saw an article about people who don’t get a good night’s sleep and the number one issue? Pets in the bed that keeps their owner from getting a good and restful night’s sleep.

I’ve had dogs that snore louder than I do. They also move around and if there’s more than one, fight over territorial rights. Even a king size bed can get too small with too many occupants. Waking up in the middle of the night to get back the covers is no fun either.

A dog bed can be something as simple as a blanket folded up on the floor. Instead of throwing out that beat up old comforter, patch it up and wash it. Use it for an inexpensive dog bed over in the corner for Fido. Chances are your dog will take right to it.

If you want to get a little more fancy, there are plenty of places to look for inexpensive beds for your dog. Keep an eye out for local or national pet store sales. Prices start off as low as $15 20. Even the big retail chains have quite a selection of dog beds that they put on sale.

There are quite a few different types of beds for your dog and many have some special features. Raised beds, padded beds, orthopedic, special coverings, waterproof coverings, square, round, rectangular, and on and on. You can get beds in different sizes, filler materials, and for different conditions and locations.

The hunting and sports catalogs often have a big selection of dog beds too. Everything from indoor, car or truck, and outdoor models are usually offered in hunting season. Many are reasonably priced and may even have free shipping included.

You can also check garage sales, resale shops, and Salvation Army stores for “slightly used” items. Many cities have weekly papers that are full of classified ads with everything you would ever want, including beds for your pooch. If you buy a used bed, make sure you clean and disinfect it before bringing into the house or you might get a little more than you wanted with your purchase.

Also keep in mind the size and age of your dog. Make sure the dog bed is big enough for pet fully stretched out and soft enough for an older dog. Take a quick look at seams, check for stains, or mildew too. Even if it passes inspection you should clean and disinfect it.

If you buy a new one, you might want to use a throw cover for it that you can wash. That will keep the dog bed safe from everyday dirt and grime your dog might drag into the house. You could treat the cover with a flea and tick repellent to add to your dog’s protection.
